Judges are among the accredited officials whose mission is to ensure the smooth running of the event, compliance with the rules, the safety of participants, and the well-being of horses.

More specifically, officials in general are involved in establishing:

1. fair and equitable competition through the application of the rules of the sport, conflict management, and ethical decision-making.
2. a safe, healthy, and stimulating sport by ensuring the fair-play, the control of the equipment and techniques used, and the use, establishment, and maintenance of a playing field (including warm-up, transition, and horse accommodation areas) that complies with the standards of the sport.

More specifically, judges:

1. evaluate athletes' performance according to established rules and criteria
2. ensure the accuracy of results
3. enforce the rules of the game in the competition area
4. make real-time decisions to ensure fairness among participants and the well-being of horses.

Those interested in becoming Cheval Québec-accredited officials are invited to open a candidate record before beginning their training.

Once accredited by the federation, officials must comply with conditions for maintaining their status, including participating in professional development or refresher training courses and officiating at sanctioned competitions according to a cycle determined by their official function and discipline.
